- Valentines Day | The Chesterton Hotel
Valentines Day An evening for two, set to candlelight and piano. On Saturday 14th February, The Chesterton invites you to mark Valentine’s Day with a single-night set menu, created for sharing and enjoyed at an unhurried pace. The room glows softly, conversation slows, and the evening is allowed to unfold naturally. From early evening into the night, a live pianist performs throughout the restaurant — a carefully chosen repertoire of romantic and contemporary pieces, played gently and with intention. The music drifts rather than dominates, creating a warm, intimate backdrop that ebbs and flows as the night deepens. Guests are welcomed between 5:00pm and 8:30pm, each table thoughtfully timed to preserve the rhythm of the evening. There is no rush — only space to linger, connect, and enjoy the moment together. Reservations are limited and managed with care. A £10 per person deposit and advance pre-order are required to confirm your table. One night. One table. A shared moment, set to music. Menu Book Now
- Afternoon Tea | The Chesterton Hotel
Enjoy weekend afternoon tea at The Chesterton Hotel. Seasonal savouries, handcrafted sweets, and premium teas served in a serene countryside setting. Afternoon Tea Time shared, slowly. Afternoon Tea at The Chesterton is an invitation — to sit, to speak, to savour. A table set not for ceremony, but for comfort. A rhythm that encourages conversation, quiet laughter, and that second cup you didn’t plan on pouring. Served from midday into the softer hours of afternoon, it’s a shared ritual — a pause between friends, between plans, between one part of the day and the next. Plates are layered, teas are chosen, stories unfold in their own time. The room is warm, the pace unhurried, the presence of others quietly grounding. Whether it’s a long-awaited catch-up, a family tradition, or simply the pleasure of good company and something sweet — Afternoon Tea at The Chesterton is designed to be held together. Not rushed. Not showy. Just shared. Book a table Specialty Teas The tea is chosen first — a moment of decision, or curiosity, or instinct. Our selection shifts with the seasons, but always includes classic blends, floral notes, something deep, something unexpected. Black, green, white, and herbal — all steeped to your preference, poured gently, and refilled without rush. It’s less about the list, more about the ritual — the warmth of the cup, the rhythm of the pour, the conversation that continues between sips. Savouries The savoury tier sets the tone — balanced, quiet, and composed. Finger sandwiches are soft-edged and neatly layered, familiar but carefully considered. Warm quiches arrive just set, their pastry crisp, their filling light. Flavours are gentle, clean, and designed to sit comfortably side by side. There’s no need for flourish. Just good food, simply presented, and a pace that encourages conversation to unfold alongside every bite. Sweets The sweet tier is a shift in tone — softer, slower, more indulgent. Each piece is small, precise, and layered with care. Crisp gives way to smooth, sharp to sweet. Pastry, cream, fruit, chocolate — not all at once, but thoughtfully paced. These aren’t desserts for spectacle. They’re gestures. Meant to be picked up slowly, shared wordlessly, and remembered long after the plate is cleared. Scones The scones are served warm — freshly made in-house, plain and sultana. Devonshire clotted cream sits thick and cool beside strawberry jam, sweet and softly set. It’s a simple pleasure, done well. Balanced, familiar, and quietly indulgent — the kind of moment that doesn’t need to be explained. Stay As Long As You Like Afternoon Tea at The Chesterton isn’t timed, and it’s never rushed. The table is yours for as long as you need — and often, a little longer. We believe conversation should unfold naturally, without clocks or cut-offs. Whether you’re catching up after too long, marking something quietly special, or simply taking a moment to pause together, there’s no pressure to finish — and no polite reminders to leave. We’ll keep the teapot warm. We’ll clear plates only when you’re ready. And you? You can stay exactly where you are. This isn’t about ceremony — it’s about space. Time made, and time kept. A little something extra, if the moment calls for it. add a glass of Champagne for £10 Add a glass of Rose Champagne for £15 Add a glass of Prosecco for £7 Add a glass of Rose Prosecco for £8 £29.95 per person Afternoon Tea is served daily, by reservation only.
